Long-lasting pain relief

Joint injections are a tried and tested method of long-lasting pain relief for joint pain and sports injuries. The NHS offers corticosteroid injections to some people, but often with long waiting times for an appointment, and steroids are not always the safest option.

We offer safer and more effective alternatives at competitive prices, and we are a Doctor-led service.

Is a joint injection right for me?

If you are sick of taking regular painkillers for your joint pain, or your work or lifestyle are being held back by painful joints, then a long-lasting pain relief injection could be exactly what you need.

An injection can give you sufficient relief to get you through a particular event that is important to you, or to get you over the initial pain hurdle of a physiotherapy programme. For some people, they can be life-changing and allow them to be active again, whether for work, hobbies or both.

Our injections not only provide effective and long-lasting joint pain relief, but they can also slow down the progression of diseases such as osteoarthritis.

Joint injections work best in conjunction with a good lifestyle and physical therapy programme, which we can support you with our personalised coaching services.

All of our injections are incredibly safe when they are given for the right person and for the right reasons. They will only be administered after one of our Doctors has taken a careful medical history and performed a thorough examination, and you will be given reliable, evidence-based advice on the best options for you.

We currently offer injections with: corticosteroid, local anaesthetic, hyaluronic acid (Ostenil) and from May 2025: platelet-rich-plasma (PRP).

We only inject if it is safe and appropriate for you.

If your condition isn't listed but you'd like to discuss potential injection therapies, please feel free to contact us so that we can advise.

Ultrasound-guided injections

We provide a highly specialised service, led by Doctors who use ultrasound to guide precision-dependent procedures as part of their regular NHS work. We will help you to decide if an injection is right for you, with your needs as our top priority.

We perform our injections using ultrasound to guide the placement of our needles. This ensures much greater accuracy and safety.

There is widespread evidence to support greater accuracy and benefit from using ultrasound-guided techniques than the traditional "landmark" method. It is what we would want for ourselves. Ultrasound is incredibly safe, and can also be used to help to diagnose your condition.

How do I book an injection?

Firstly, we need to work out if an injection is likely to be right for you. Most of the time, we can do this by email, and sometimes I will need to chat to you by telephone. This is free of charge.

Then you will need an face-to-face assessment, where I can examine you and we will discuss the safest and most appropriate options for you. In the majority of cases we perform the injection during this assessment. If for any reason we do not proceed, you simply pay for the consultation fee (£95). If you need further injections to the same joint wi
